The Role
Reporting into the UAE Finance Manager and Controls lead, the key purpose of this role is to:

Support the UAE Finance Manager and be responsible for general accounting and finance duties including:
  • Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts
  • Assisting with month end and year end closes
  • Assisting with budget/forecast preparation
  • Preparation of periodic financial analysis
Key Tasks in the Role
Assist Finance Manager with:
  • Daily concessionaire and VAT Refund approvals
  • Preparing the monthly Management Pack
  • Monthly Balance Sheet Reviews
  • Resolving aged items queries by following up with relevant stakeholders
  • Cashflow, Budget and Rolling Forecasts
  • Regulatory returns i.e. Central Bank & VAT Returns
  • Preparation of Financial Statements for Year End Audit and queries raised by Auditors
  • Managing and closing Internal Audit points
  • Perform routine calculations to produce analysis and reports as requested by Finance Manager
  • Help oversee and manage ledger accounts
  • Manage invoices as part of Accounts Payable process and ensure the balances reconcile with SOA of major supplier/customer at month end
  • Manage adhoc and weekly payments in line with allowed credit period
  • Reconcile any discrepancies or errors identified by conversing with employees and/or clients
  • Review payroll and ensure the bank is informed in timely manner before the payment
  • Setup new suppliers on accounting software
  • Assist key stakeholders with ad hoc queries as they arise
  • Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions
  • Collect and enter data for various financial spreadsheets

Role Specific Experience and Skills
  • Relevant knowledge of bookkeeping practice and techniques
  • Working knowledge of IAS/IFRS requirements
  • Payroll Knowledge
  • Ability to work with deadlines without close supervision
  • Attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of SAP
  • Experience in managing and balancing the demands of different stakeholders
  • Used to working and delivering to tight timescales
  • Driven to continue development within the Finance community
  • Ability to challenge constructively when required to do so
  • Ability to develop effective relationships across functional areas
